And so one week later i am moved into the new flat comfortably, moving was not without its problems as i found out the stairs up too my flat were a huge obstacle of which could only be conquered by sweat, blood and very nearly tears of sheer exhaustion. But its all done now...and if anything it was a great learning experience.
The move itself was very interesting, the place that my Dad was hiring a van from didn't have the one he had booked so he instead was given a replacement vechile the size of a small truck with a broken wing mirror and no radio. 7 hours later we arrived in Glasgow...for a moment i couldn't get my bearings but once we got onto Great western road i knew where i was going. When we were coming up to Glasgow i was bursting with excitement, i couldn't sit still and all i wanted to do was say "Yaaaaay!"
Heather and her Boyfriend Alex were at the Flat to greet us, we were exhausted from traveling and they made us a lovely cup of tea before we started to move my things into the flat. It took just over one hour of sheer physical labour to move everything up into the living room and the thought of having to move all of my things from the other flat made me feel a little sick.
So many things have happened since the move ill be updating with new things throughout the week.

A new flat
I have some very exciting news, I now have a flat for next year! The first down payment has been put through and i will have to finish of some paperwork and sign some forms and its ours, i really can't believe that its happening. The flat itself is so beautiful with 3 double bedrooms (not the largest that i have seen but big enough to be comfortable and snug) A large kitchen/diner with a kitchen nook and a dryer that is on a pulley. As well as this there is a Living room with bay windows and a huge storage cupboard all for £300 a month its such a good deal especially for the location too. I did take any pictures which i really regret now because i think that its going to seem like such a long time until august even though its only about 3 months away in reality.
I thought it would be interesting to upload the second part of the brief (also useful for me if i forget to bring my brief into the studio) as you can see its very specific and i will look forward to the workshops in Vectorworks and the model making tutor also. Especially since i found out that we won't be working with foam board!
Here is a copy of the floor plan that i have to work with, so far im just thinking about space and how it can be adapted to allow 2 people to work alongside each other with the minimum amount of conflict. How can i communicate harmony in difference?

Restoration
After being so excited about the films that i got out from the library neither of them worked properly, one flew over the cuckoos nest was scratched so it stopped playing halfway through and 'The world' refused to play on my PS2 because of the region difference which i didn't even know the film had. I will have to watch them another time...when i get the chance that is!
One of the many things that i have planned for the next few months is to collect some pieces of furniture and decoration for the flat. Some time last year i came across a record cabinet on the street near my flat, i thought it was too good to throw away (and it was going to be because it was next to some rubbish bags) so i brought it back with the intention to restore it. Whilst in Milton Keynes i came across some Glass Knobs that would suit the finished style of the cabinet better than the one handle it had when it was found.
At the moment i use it to store sketchbooks, sewing materials and fabric but hopefully i would like to fill it with records to put on whilst making dinner or when im working on some sketchbook with my friends.
The photograph on top of the cabinet was also found on the streets of Glasgow, on a bin! I really don't understand why people would through away perfectly salvageable things that with a little TLC could be easily a great addition to any home. You can also see my lovely Film Pentax, given to me by my dad a 50's egg cup, some felt pebble work, found marble/tiles, charity shop glass, ceramic elephant, slide (with pictures of chairs on it) and 2 boxes which i tend to fill with things that don't really have a place in my room.
The perspective book has some great drawings explaining how to draw in perspective, i hope to show you some of my attempts at perspective soon.

Flat pictures
Here are a couple of the pictures of the flat viewing that i promised you ages ago, as you can see the quality is terrible but i think it gets the point across? I really liked the ceiling rose, but that won't sway me to pay the huge amount of rent they wanted for this tenement and after all alot of places have ceiling roses here!
Im getting more and more frustrated with the flat hunting situation because of the constant rejection in regards to finding somewhere to let for August/September time...i really want to get it out of the way but i have a feeling we might have to wait till then to find somewhere which will be such a pain. Me, Maeve and Heather went to view a flat today near Kelvingrove Park, it turned out to be a basement flat and really wasn't the kind of thing we were looking for but i think it did help us realise how important some aspects of our 'ideal' flat are such as light and windows in the kitchen and bathroom.
Today i got some books out from the library; Perspective for interior designer, Minimum space Maximum living and a book about T-shirt design (because hopefully im going to start up a small online business selling some designs). I also got out a couple of films to watch tonight as i am having a productive night in, well to think about things and get some headspace at least. The first is 'One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest' and the second is 'The world' im really excited about both!
On Monday i have a meeting with the marketing director for the GSA about Rosemary Lucas, im very excited!

A busy day
Today is going to be a really really busy day. Well the afternoon/evening at least will be busy, for now im just doing washing and a bit of tidying. Its hard to work in a messy room...especially when its not the biggest size ever.
My room rarely stays that tidy when i get into a project, i don't really see the need to put everything away that im working with and so it tends to descend into chaos quite quickly. Anyway the main reason for me to tidy my room is because im going back to my home town, Milton Keynes, for 1 week starting today (well the travel anyway) and i allways like to come back to a tidy room so that i can jump straight back into work or whatever i want to do without the stress of mess.
That picture above was actually taken at the beginning of university, now i seemed to have procured a ton of DVDs/magazines and have a calender that my grandparents sent to me stuck on my wall next to the mirror. The basic layout is the same though, and no doubt i will probably bring back more things to fill up those shelves this time around!
At 2pm i have a flat viewing along Argyle street im hoping that it will be really nice. I promise to take some pictures and post them up here tomorrow, so long as it doesn't infringe on any kind of law that the estate agents might have....ill have to ask them just to make sure! Then i will have to go into town to buy a magazine for the coach. Im thinking something like ID or Dazed and Confused, maybe the new issue of Elle decoration will be out. After that i have to pack and i might be going to see a film called 'The Orphanage' (made by the same director of Pans labyrinth) and finally i catch the coach at 10:30pm! Just writing it is making me feel tired.
The first project we had to do this term was to make 49 drawings of an object that we had picked for us out of a hat. I got this strange funnel (from ikea i think) and some other people got things like a brush, a dog toy and a peg? At first i was really angry with my object but quickly realised that i had been quite lucky.
After creating 49 drawings we had to put them all together and arrange them in a way that all of the drawings could communicate with each other.
Not sure i like the finished piece but ah well what can you do? Apart from try harder next time.

Its March
This is a heads up post and yet another apology.
This Blog is rocky, a rocky footing doesn't really create a solid blog so...im going to try and fix this somehow. Its going to be a long haul but, i owe it to myself to do it. For a start I've decided that this blog will seriously begin NOW.
Term 3 is approaching quickly, which means i will be specialising in Interiors. Such a big change to my course should instill change to my state of mind and how i waste my time on various Internet profiles/websites instead of doing something creative like Blogging. Im really excited about this change, even though i feel really unprepared, and so too celebrate im toying with starting a fresh and opening a brand new blog.
As a step towards this i have bought the domain name and will upgrade so that i can host a blog within the next two weeks...with a separate self run blog i can have stability and ownership that a blog spot doesn't really provide. But I have a feeling i might just keep that separate, possibly for when i start my own company (IF i start my own company).
Since my last post a ton of things have happened. As well as not sticking to any of my new years resolutions (who keeps them anyway) my flat situation for next year has been sorted out! I will now be living with two girls from the GSA called Heather and Maeve.
Maeve is taking Visual Communications, shes a really nice girl i get on well with her and i think living with her is going to be so much fun!. Heather is taking Sculpture and Environmental art, she's probably one of the most grounded people that i have met since coming to uni, we allways have interesting conversation and shes great at thinking of things to do...infact she set me a project to do over easter because i feel lost without some kind of deadline approaching. I can't wait to find somewhere to live. It's going to be great to have a blank canvas to do things to, ive got a ton of ideas.
Last friday was the end of term 2 and the beginning of the easter holidays. I decided to go home for only one week and spend the other two weeks here, so i can look for a job and flat hunt, but i am very excited to go back to Milton Keynes to see my friends and family it feels like i havn't seen them in ages.
Yesterday i decided to go to some museums and practice some drawing. It was fun but...i really enjoy drawing things that you wouldn't normally see or things with alot of detail, bones, insects, pottery, buildings anything that captures my imagination. In the Huntarian Museum there are alot of obscure things, in particular fossils and taxidermy animals. Ive decided that i like that museum alot and im going to go as much as i can to practice my drawing and improve on my style. Here is a dinosaurs foot -
Im quite happy with this drawing and my drawing style is getting more and more refined its terribly exciting to see my skills progress...i guess ive got 4 more years of this too look forward too.
I will post some of my work that i did from last term up tommorow for your viewing pleasure. For now thats a wrap.

Progress and damnation
I have been awol too long long, since my last past (which has been a very very long time) i started to work full time at my weekend job, Habitat, which lasted for what seemed to be forever and left me feeling terribly....uninspired. My creativity was literally sucked right out of me and it has only been with the discovery of Core 77's Hack2school that i have felt inspired enough to pick up this blog and continue todocument my soon to be student life! So thankyou Core77, you have been a big help (and im sure once i have explored your juicy juicy links you will help me much much more).
So what has happened other than full time work at Habitat?
Short answer-Lots
Long answer- Ive some how become some kind of brilliant organised 'independant' person. Seriously over the past few weeks i have organised accomodation (which i will come to later), Bank accounts, Paypal accounts, Budget, Provisional Driving license, Tax, Uni (conditional offer - Unconditional) etc etc. I have to admit it has been a massive stretch for me but it has been a very big eye opener to the real world....and i don't think it could of come at a better time. Saying this i do have a few things left to do including sorting out a passport which i am dreading.
So what has happened other than full time work at Habitat?
